Transport
There is an extensive 20,000 km paved roads network and 360 km of freeways.
There are 2,167 kilometers of railways. Tunisian railroads carry 2.1 billion tons-km of merchandise and 39.2 million passengers every year.
The rail network is 2.168 km long and ensures the transport
of 13 million tons of goods and 34,5 million passengers per
year.
Seven commercial ports in Tunis: Bizerte, Rades, Sousse, Sfax, Gabes, Zarzis and an oil terminal in Skhira.
The construction of a port in deep water to Enfidha is in progress.
Ports are entirely installed and equipped for docking and processing car ferries, cruise ships, roll-on/roll-off ships, container ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers. They can handle any kind of freight quickly, inexpensively and safely.
Tunisia's ports welcome approximately 8,000 ships per year carrying 31.1 million tons of merchandise.

Tunisia has 9 international airports: Tunis, Monastir, Jerba, Tabarka, Tozeur, Enfidha, Gabes, Sfax and Gafsa with the capacity of 19.500 million passengers.
 Telecommunications
The sector of telecommunications is in full expansion :
Tunisia has an integrated Service Digital network (100%).
The facilities and services offered to companies cover a complete
range (data transmission, videotext, cellular telephone, Internet,
etc.), giving automatically access to more than 170 countries.
The investment has reached 5,320 million dinars between 2001 and 2006, and it will reach 6,300 million dinars during the period 2007-2011.
Land and mobile line density = 105.02 lines /100 inhabitants at the october 2009.
Land line clientele: 1.3 million in 2009.
Mobile phone clientele: 9.754 million in 2009.
Rural phone system: WLL and MOBIRIF technology that works, in line with GSM norms (about 41,000 mobirif subscribers in 2009).

Industrial parks and free zones
Tunisia has about one hundred industrial areas throughout the territory 83 of which were created by the Industrial Land Agency covering a total area of 2 500 hectares.
The 11th economic development plan (2007-2011) provides for the achievement of 35 industrial zones covering 677 ha.
