The budget allocated for junior and higher education reached 6.9% of the GDP and 25% of the budget of the State.
The number of students completing secondary education has reached 1,100,401 in 2006.
There are currently 370,000 students enrolled in higher education establishments in Tunisia. By the end of 2010, the number is expected to reach 500,000 students.
29% of the students pursue studies in scientific and high-technical
disciplines (data processing, telecommunication, etc).
More than 15.000 other students are registered in well-known
universities and foreign schools, in particular in the United
States, Canada, France and Germany.
